The Emotions That Surface With Your Writing

This is how I look when I write.

I am preparing to go on a whirlwind young adult book blog tour for A Place In This Life, which starts February 13 and ends March 9. In the process, I find myself answering questions about the book and myself, as well as providing character interviews for the various (and awesome) participants. This is daunting!

Having to answer questions about your own creative work is an emotional experience. While there are the technicalities of how the story came about, with something as personal as the subject matter for A Place In This Life, I’ve found myself transported back to the story’s origins, realizing how things had to happen the way they did in order for me to write the book almost 25 years later.

If I go to deep in thought about it all, every bit of fear, wonder, surprise and delight comes back to me – knowing that a boy wanted to talk to me! And now I have to talk for him… insane mind twist, it is.
